Stone carving ... a little information about your course... taught by Andrew Worthington Andrew says.... The course is designed for beginners and we work in a relaxed atmosphere. Each person will have their own set of tools and PPE. The workshop is held under cover but we are outside so suitable clothing and strong footwear is recommended. All materials and tools are included in the price. At the end of the two days the sculptures are yours to take home. You can also have upright 'palings' which are less work than the horizontal rails and you can have as many of those as you like. The simplicity of your design is important as it is surprising how much work is involves. Gate sizes We need to know the dimensions of your gate so please mark this on your drawing Ideally the outer dimensions should not be more than 4ft wide, but it can be any height Timber and hinges The timber for your gate is likely to be £50, maybe less Jack will also bring hinges which you can buy from him at £20 per pair You may want to print this page too! • Lino printing

Lino printing ... a little information about your course... taught by Bronte Adam Bronte says…. I am really looking forward to working with you on my print workshop and I can’t wait to see what you will create. Design ideas If you could start having a think what you might want to draw for your prints, the subjects can be broad, and I will do my best to help you realise what you would like to create. I design a lot of prints with foliage, fruits, flowers and some animals and birds. These are all possible but will vary in difficulty. For those of you who are not confident with drawing, I will be bringing along some pre drawn elements you can cut and collage together to create your own compositions. If you need visuals to draw from, please remember to bring these along, they will help a lot when designing. I will have all the materials you need for the course, and you may have the time to do more than one print, so bare this in mind, in case you want to do more. Clothing On the days that we will be printing our lino blocks, it would be best if you are wearing clothes that are comfortable and you don’t mind getting ink on. The inks are oil based so it’s harder to get out. Wernog Wood have aprons for you to use, and I also bring some throw away gloves if you prefer to use these while using the inks. If you have any questions in advance of the course, please get in touch with Wernog Wood and I will try and answer them as best I can. You may want to print this page too! Click here to see a collection of David's work Stories from our students This is the first time we have run a day trip to Snowdonia but this is what students have said about other photography courses David has taught in Wernog Wood... --- I have thoroughly enjoyed the course. Being challenged to look at photographs in a different way and in different scales really pushes the bounds of ‘what I know’. The artwork in the afternoon was also very thought provoking and really useful. And the introduction to Lightroom was exceptional. I feel like I’ve learned an awful lot and had some very thought provoking information presented to me. - Dave The course was excellent in every respect. Although having to adapt to very wet weather on the day, David managed to put together a program that pushed our photography appreciation and knowledge to new levels. Post Covid, it was great to be working in an informal group and undertaking exercises in Wernog's woods & the superb workshop. I was very pleased with the results and look forward to the next course, when hopefully we may be able to get up into the hills. Especially loved the Bara Brith! Difficult to find anything to fault in the facilities or the course - Chris It was paced just right for me and I re-learnt a lot about camera settings. Also the tuition on Adobe light room really opened my eyes to what can be achieved with some good editing. David White is an excellent tutor. It has inspired me to to get out there and take more pictures, which I will make time to do. - Chris From the base of 'zero', I've gained so much from your inspiring course. - Richard An excellent day in a well run centre with friendly hosts and an excellent course tutor. I learnt a lot during the day and enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish.
