Handmade by you in Wernog Wood

'The chair making course was a complete detox from a life over-burdened with electronics and mechanical tricks that ‘save’ us the bother, and true joy of hand crafting something as simple as a chair. There are easier and cheaper ways of adding a chair to the household inventory but most definitely none so satisfying'.

We offer an array of traditional and contemporary craft courses, instructed by practicing artists and crafts people. Courses will be tailored for beginners as well as those with experience.

See 2020 courses below

Ranging from single day to week-long courses, you will learn your new skill within our charming woodland workshop, or at the jewellers bench.  There will be options for one to one tuition, small groups, or larger groups of up to eight people.

If you are staying for more than one day, we offer simple camping in our wildflower meadow... but watch this space as (subject to relevant permissions) we aim to develop a range of quirky accommodation to round off your woodland experience.

Courses planned for 2020 include blacksmithing, cleft oak gate making, greenwood chair making, timber frame building, floristry and jewellery. Based on popular demand, future courses may include painting, photography, wood carving, ceramics, upholstery, woodland crafts and many more.

Please take a moment to tell us which courses interest you by taking part in this short survey. Or if you are interested in teaching a course, please get in touch.
