Booking terms & conditions
updated on 28.10.25

These terms and conditions apply as soon as your booking has been confirmed.
By booking a course, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Course suitability and preparation

All of our courses are designed for adults aged 18 years and over. Unless stated otherwise, no prior experience is required as our courses welcome complete beginners as well as those with experience.

Many of our courses involve hands-on physical work, which may require a reasonable level of strength and fitness. Courses take place in a woodland setting with uneven and occasionally sloped ground. If you have any concerns about your mobility or physical needs, please contact us before booking so that we can discuss how best to accommodate you.

Before your visit, please read our What to Bring and Everything You Need to Know guidance carefully. This includes advice on clothing suitable for your working day and for comfort while camping.

Booking a course

To help us run courses smoothly for everyone, we kindly ask that you only book if you are confident you can attend.

To secure your place, please complete our online booking form, ensuring that all attendees are aged 18 or over.

  • Regarding payments, you may choose to pay either:

    • The full course fee at the time of booking, or

    • A 50% deposit, in which case an invoice for the remaining balance will be issued.

  • The balance is due 40 days before the course start date. If we do not receive it by then, we may cancel your booking and retain your deposit.

  • Some courses include additional materials costs, which will be clearly stated in the course details before booking

Gift vouchers

You may pay (or part pay) for your course using a Wernog Wood Gift Voucher.

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and must be used to make a booking within that time, even if the course itself may take place at a later date.

Vouchers are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person if you are unable to attend.

Once a voucher is used to confirm a booking, our Refund and Cancellation Policy (below) will apply.

Refunds and cancellations

Our courses run with small groups and committed tutor costs, so late cancellations have a real impact. We simply ask that you commit fully to your booking so that courses remain enjoyable and sustainable for everyone.

  • If you really are unable to attend, we welcome you to find someone else to take your place. Please get in touch to discuss this and to update attendee details.

  • Unfortunately, unless your place can be filled, we cannot transfer your booking to a future course, as costs and preparation are already in place.

  • Where we are able to re-sell your place, we may offer you a credit note for a future course (valid for 12 months), minus a £50 administration fee.

  • If you cancel at least 40 days before the course start date, we will provide a full refund of your course fee. No administration fee will be charged.

  • Cancellations made less than 40 days before the course start date are not refundable.

Our cancellation policy is strictly applied to ensure courses run smoothly, tutors are fairly compensated, and small-group dynamics are maintained. We therefore recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances or cancellation costs.

Changes to courses

We make every effort to run our courses as advertised. However, we may occasionally need to change the date, time, tutor or content in order to improve the course or respond to unforeseen circumstances. If a substantial change occurs, all booked students will be notified promptly.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a course with at least 14 days’ notice if there are insufficient bookings to make it viable. In such cases, you may choose to:

  • Transfer to another available course, or

  • Receive a full refund of your course fee.

  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days.

We cannot cover independently booked travel or accommodation costs, so travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Liability

Wernog Wood takes every reasonable step to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. However, participation in practical courses is at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own health, safety, and personal belongings during your stay. Please follow guidance from your tutors and take sensible precautions to help keep yourself safe.
