I am really looking forward to working with you on my print workshop and I can’t wait to see what you will create.
Design ideas
If you could start having a think what you might want to draw for your prints, the subjects can be broad, and I will do my best to help you realise what you would like to create. I design a lot of prints with foliage, fruits, flowers and some animals and birds. These are all possible but will vary in difficulty. For those of you who are not confident with drawing, I will be bringing along some pre drawn elements you can cut and collage together to create your own compositions. If you need visuals to draw from, please remember to bring these along, they will help a lot when designing. I will have all the materials you need for the course, and you may have the time to do more than one print, so bare this in mind, in case you want to do more.
Clothing
On the days that we will be printing our lino blocks, it would be best if you are wearing clothes that are comfortable and you don’t mind getting ink on. The inks are oil based so it’s harder to get out. Wernog Wood have aprons for you to use, and I also bring some throw away gloves if you prefer to use these while using the inks.
If you have any questions in advance of the course, please get in touch with Wernog Wood and I will try and answer them as best I can.
