Photography day trip to Snowdonia
See course details, dates, costs, tutors & stories from students below
Designed for relatively fit, agile and seasoned photographers, this exciting single-day course will take you to the heart of Snowdonia to photograph the glacial landscapes from surrounding valleys and strategic vantage points. You will take a photographic look at man’s industrial influence on the natural landscapes of Snowdonia.

The workshop explores some dramatic locations, while informing participants on subjects such as landscape composition, working with water and how to make a series of timeless images while learning to work a location. The day will start with a short presentation covering creative and compositional considerations, followed by creative and practical photography practice with rotating one-to-one tuition.

All digital editing will be under your own steam at home, but can be learnt with David on his other courses in Wernog Wood. Come equipped with a digital camera with interchangeable lens capability. A tripod would be useful, but is not essential. The day will involve short sections of steep walking and uneven ground.

Stories from our students
This is the first time we have run a day trip to Snowdonia but this is what students have said about other photography courses David has taught in Wernog Wood...
---
I have thoroughly enjoyed the course. Being challenged to look at photographs in a different way and in different scales really pushes the bounds of ‘what I know’.
The artwork in the afternoon was also very thought provoking and really useful. And the introduction to Lightroom was exceptional. I feel like I’ve learned an awful lot and had some very thought provoking information presented to me. - Dave
The course was excellent in every respect. Although having to adapt to very wet weather on the day, David managed to put together a program that pushed our photography appreciation and knowledge to new levels.
Post Covid, it was great to be working in an informal group and undertaking exercises in Wernog's woods & the superb workshop. I was very pleased with the results and look forward to the next course, when hopefully we may be able to get up into the hills.
Especially loved the Bara Brith! Difficult to find anything to fault in the facilities or the course - Chris
It was paced just right for me and I re-learnt a lot about camera settings. Also the tuition on Adobe light room really opened my eyes to what can be achieved with some good editing.
David White is an excellent tutor. It has inspired me to to get out there and take more pictures, which I will make time to do. - Chris

From the base of 'zero', I've gained so much from your inspiring course. - Richard

An excellent day in a well run centre with friendly hosts and an excellent course tutor. I learnt a lot during the day and enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Lovely grounds, spacious and very interesting centre. - Des
