The thread of life

Margaret Carter is the next artist to join the Wernog Wood Collective for the Helfa Gelf Art Trail in September.

Margaret uses natural threads and organic fibres in a stylised, almost uniform way, She works in muted tones of creams, greys and whites to reflect the rural nature of North Wales. Her work has been described as having 'a Japanese-like simplicity, both serene and natural in its presentation'. Her new work ‘The thread of life’, is punctuated with simply framed clusters of threads, or rhythms of feathers threaded through musical staves.
