Immersing herself in the world of natural and holistic skincare and wellness, she used her knowledge to begin creating skincare products that would actually care for her skin. Her products weren’t grown in a lab, but in the meadows, hedgerows, and woodlands of rural North Wales. In 2022 Sami decided to change track. She is a self professed introvert and, drawing upon 30 years of her own business success, now supports other introverted and quietly-ambitious women to create and develop their own business brands. If you have dreams of developing skincare products and perhaps one day your own small business, what better place to start than to join Sami in the variety of skincare courses she offers here in Wernog Wood. Details Dates Tutor Costs Stories Stories from our students What a brilliant birthday treat! A weekend stone carving at Wernog Wood in Wales. Such a beautiful place, brilliant hosts and amazing tuition. My design expectations exceeded my actual skills but I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. It’s totally different to what I was trying to create BUT I let the stone decide what it wanted to be in the end. - Lela I didn’t know quite what to expect and this was way outside my comfort zone and it turned out to be a lovely creative experience. Andrew the tutor was excellent, and gave basic instruction and then more detailed advice as you needed it, building gradually on what you were trying to achieve, but not at all overdone, and with encouragement from start to finish, there was a lot of freedom involved in developing the artworks. From my rough sketches ‘let’s see how to find what is inside this block of limestone’ was in my mind the whole time, and as a group we produced surprisingly and radically different results. I have to say it was complete enjoyment from start to finish. - Andy The course with Andrew is hard work but he is very supportive and encouraging. I was a complete beginner and yet I took home a lovely sculpture which I am proud to own and display. My little hands took a beating, not being used to handling heavy hammer and chisels!! Although it was hard work it was also fun. - Lynne Upcoming Dates Sat, 09 Nov Stonecarving - November 2024 / Wernog Wood Book Now 09 Nov 2024, 09:00 – 10 Nov 2024, 17:00 An introduction to carving in Maltese limestone Join the waiting list or express interest in future courses N.B. • Wernog Wood | Work in progress | North Wales

WORK IN PROGRESS It took us four years to find the perfect peaceful spot to run our courses; a place where our visitors can truly escape the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. After traipsing around nearly fifty properties, we finally found Wernog Wood hidden within this beautiful secluded woodland. If you look at the photos below, you can probably see why we fell in love with it. Click here to watch a birds eye video of Wernog Wood as we found it when we arrived. When we arrived in September 2017, the house had not been lived in for 15 years and our predecessor, Dot, had lived here alone for forty years prior to that. As you can imagine, the whole place needs considerable renovation... luckily Rob is a multi-skilled builder and mechanic who is up for a challenge... but we were keen to get the business up and running before completing house renovations. So if you are planning to pay us a visit, don’t be surprised to find some piles of rubble and a rough looking house… but the rest of the place is beautiful... please bear with us! We hope you enjoy it so much that you will come back again to see how we have developed.
