Learn how to make soap
COURSE DETAILS

This revitalising day with Sami Blackford will enable you to explore the processes of soap-making using natural ingredients and traditional cold-process methods.

Working in pairs, you will create a batch of soap batter which you will divide into separate moulds so that each of you leaves with a batch of approximately 3kg of soap, fragranced to your own tastes.

This course will focus on the process of soap-making so that you can leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue making soap at home.

Please note this course is not certificated and does not cover the labelling/UK regulatory requirements needed to sell soaps commercially, although Sami is willing to share her knowledge.

YOUR TUTOR

In 2013 Sami Blackford founded the award-winning botanical skincare company, Freyaluna. After battling acne for years and trying every product unsuccessfully, Sami began researching skincare in her mid-20s. Immersing herself in natural and holistic skincare, she created products that would actually care for her skin—grown not in labs, but in the meadows, hedgerows, and woodlands of rural North Wales.

In 2022 Sami changed track. A self-professed introvert, she now supports other introverted and quietly-ambitious women to create their own business brands. If you dream of developing skincare products and perhaps your own small business, what better place to start than joining Sami's skincare courses here in Wernog Wood.

Stories from our students
How to make soap
I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It has given me the building steps I needed to make my own. - Sian
How to make soap
It's 5 stars from me for both the course I took, 'Soap Making' with Sami Blackford and the oh so gorgeous surroundings, both inside and out, of Wernog Wood.
We mixed, melted and watched as magic happened before our very eyes, leaving Wernog Wood with excellent instructions and information for making our own soap
.

I also left Wernog Wood grateful for the company, the food and the sense of relaxation my body was enjoying after the day in such pleasant surroundings.
I'm now wondering which course will be my next one at Wernog Wood? -
