Stained glass garden art
COURSE DETAILS

Choose from two single day courses with glass artist Brian Duffy, learning traditional skills of leaded stained. On either of these courses you will cut both curved and straight glass shapes, and then lead, solder, cement and polish them to create your finished piece.

Art in the garden - Bring a kaleidoscope of colour to your garden with a leaded stained glass panel (15 x 60cm) which will  stand proud in your flowerbed in a sturdy metal frame, made by Brian. 

 

Window illumination - Or make a square stained glass panel (30 x 30cm) having chosen a pre-designed template. You can also display this within a handmade metal frame if you choose.

You do not need any previous artistic experience as pre-made designs are available, however you are welcome to create your own.

£140 - 1 day course 

plus approx £40 materials for glass, lead & paint

and an additional £40 for a handmade square metal frame 

or £70 for a tall handmade metal frame for the garden

This course is aimed at adults, aged 18yrs + and is suitable for beginners to those with some experience.

Brian Duffy stained glass artist and tutor
YOUR TUTOR

Brian Duffy began his journey with glass in an industrial setting after leaving school.  As his passion grew, he sought to develop his skills and consequently spent five years exploring the light-altering effects of glass at university studying Architectural Glass Design. He then continued onto a Masters in Contemporary Applied Arts.

Over 33 years of working with glass, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in a wide variety of techniques. He has shared this knowledge for the past 20 years teaching students at degree level.

Now working as a freelance glass artist, Brian enjoys offering others the chance to discover glass design in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

    Art in the garden - Bring a kaleidoscope of colour to your garden with a leaded stained glass panel (15 x 60cm) which will  stand proud in your flowerbed in a sturdy metal, handmade by Brian.

    Make a colourful stained glass panel choosing your design from a range of templates giving you time to learn the process of stained glass. By the end of the day you will take home your own 30cm x 30cm square stained glass panel, cutting, leading, soldering, cementing and polishing the panel.
  • 17 Oct 2026, 09:00 – 18 Oct 2026, 17:00
    Over two days, make a colourful stained glass panel with botanical sgraffito designs. Choose from a range of pre-designed glass shape templates and then learn to cut, sgraffito, lead, solder, cement and polish your glass to take home a 30x35cm square panel. 9am start on Day 1 & 10am start on Day 2.
