Learn sustainable floristry that celebrates nature and Spring Equinox, creating a hand tied posy and/or a floral arrangement in a ceramic bowl handmade by our pottery tutor Sarah Bartlem which will be yours to keep for many seasons to come.
Whether a beginner or expert, Kathryn Cronin award winning artisan florist from Fierceblooms will share the principles, skills and craft of floristry along with her unique eco-friendly techniques developed over a decade of growing and creating with flowers from her canalside cutting garden.
From established florists to growers curious about new floral techniques, Kathryn will guide you through the varieties to plant and how to grow, cut and condition them. She will also help you recognise the shapes and textures that capture the beautifully natural, wild and wonderful style of floristry, and how to convey the essence of each fleeting seasonal moment.

Kathryn Cronin from Fierce Blooms is a wild garden–style artisan florist based in the Wharf by the Shropshire Union Canal in Cheshire. She was recently awarded Silver in the Floral Creations category at the Chelsea Flower Show 2025, a testament to her botanical expertise and distinctive design style.
Inspired by childhood days spent in her grandfather’s greenhouse - filled with intoxicating geraniums and cascading fuchsias - Kathryn brings a deep, lifelong passion to her work. With a Botany honours degree from Nottingham University and floral design training from Reaseheath College, she creates fierce, spirited arrangements that capture the essence of each season.
She grows flowers in her canalside cutting garden, forages responsibly from British hedgerows, and designs bespoke wild garden-style arrangements for weddings and events.

Spent a lovely relaxed day learning about hedgerow flowers with Zanna (our former tutor), hosted by Claire & Rob, who made me feel so welcome. A beautiful spot in the folds of the Clwydians, the company & content were great. Thank you - Maggie
