Leather sandal making course
COURSE DETAILS

Join Lucy Lloyd from Ottowin for a three-day sandal-making course, where you will create your own pair of woven leather sandals.

Choose from black, brown or a surprise leather colour and learn every step of the process — from understanding leather and tools, to pattern cutting, lasting, soling, and bonding. The finished sandals feature a supportive fit with toe coverage and an ankle strap, with a rubber outsole.

The course is designed so you can continue sandal-making at home with minimal tools, offering a rare opportunity to learn sustainable, small-scale shoemaking, and walk away in a pair of shoes handmade by you.

YOUR TUTOR

Lucy Lloyd from Ottowin works together and her partner Ollie. Together they are a creative duo whose thoughtful approach to shoemaking has been shaping their Bristol studio since 2016. Every pair of Ottowin shoes is handmade, using traditional shoemaking techniques, the finest UK leathers, and a deep respect for sustainability.

Producing fewer than 200 pairs each year, their focus is firmly on quality, comfort, and longevity — creating footwear that truly lasts a lifetime. Each design is carefully constructed with vegetable-tanned leather throughout, allowing every shoe to mould beautifully to the wearer’s feet and improve with age.

Lucy and Ollie’s quiet dedication to making well, not more, has built a loyal community who value slow, sustainable craftsmanship rooted in honesty, skill, and care.
