On this liberating three day course with Marie-Therese King, you will explore and experiment with a variety of drawing techniques pushing your skills to new horizons and perhaps taking you out of your comfort zone!
Working with charcoal, acrylics, pastels and inks, you will draw from life in a playful and expressive way, discovering the joy of mark making with an assortment of tools – from bamboo pens, sticks and brushes to chunky pieces of charcoal. Expect to draw fast, draw big... nothing should surprise you!
Using nature as a starting point, this course offers the chance to work both individually and collaboratively, capturing the spirit of your stunning woodland surroundings while enjoying the creative process in a fun and engaging way.

We have a variety of accommodation options if you would like to stay for all days, with opportunity for self guided drawing in Wernog Wood or the surrounding hills, walking, visiting Ruthin Craft Centre or our friends at Oriel Glasfryn Gallery.

Marie-Therese King is an experienced tutor as well as an established artist and designer, her passion and inspiration is British wildlife and birds.
Training initially in graphic design, she graduated in multi disciplinary design and is a member of the Worcester Guild of Contemporary Crafts. She works in batik, etched glass and different printmaking techniques.
Marie-Therese comes from a family of horticulturists, gardeners, bird watchers and keen walkers. Now based in the Malvern hills she observes and draws what she sees around her.
