Traditional & contemporary craft courses
Our plan is to develop a unique woodland venue for residential craft courses. Both traditional and contemporary craft courses will be delivered by practicing artists and crafts people.
Courses may range from one day to a full week, or from one-to-one tuition up to small groups of eight.
We have already built an open fronted timber frame workshop for our woodland courses. Next we plan to build an enclosed workshop for courses that are better suited to indoors!
Already we offer camping in our wildflower field and in time we hope to develop a variety of facilities to accommodate our visitors throughout the seasons.
Depending on relevant permissions, we hope our visitors be able to stay in quirky woodland cabins which are cosy and full of character. We even dream of renovating dilapidated wooden railway carriages that we found in our field, but they may be too far gone by the time we get around to it! We also hope to build a communal woodland kitchen for the full alfresco experience.
We intend to welcome walkers, cyclists and other visitors to the Clwydian Range. Being just 200m from Offa's Dyke, Wernog Wood is the perfect place for walkers to stay a night or two. This stretch of Offa’s Dyke crosses the A494 pass at Clwyd Gate, offering a natural break in the arduous run of Clwydian peaks.
